A sportswoman herself, she has represented England in international junior tennis championships while she was studying in Queenswood Boarding School. Having completed her education from the University of Leeds where she learnt Broadcast Journalism, Georgie Thompson started her career being a production assistant for GMTV betting bonus.
She shifted from GMTV in January 2001 to Sky Sports News and has now since covered many sports activities like the US Open Tennis Championships, A1 Grand Prix, Grand Prix Masters, Speedway World Cup, Americas Cup and the Race of Champions.
